Directions by sea, air, rail, road,
bus & foot. No excuses.
By sea, really... aboard the Waverley, the last seagoing Paddle Steamer in the World berths at the Science Centre - a 2 minute walk.
Travel by sea plane (if you're travelling from the West of Scotland). Britain's first seaplane airline berths right outside.
Most people, coming by air choose to fly to Glasgow Airport, 6 miles or 15 minutes by car. EasyJet flies here too.
Glasgow Prestwick International Airport is 30 miles away with good train links to Glasgow city centre. Trains operate every half an hour between 6am and 11pm and take about 45minutes.
Edinburgh Airport is 44 miles away- travel to Glasgow via a bus to Edinburgh and then train to Glasgow.
Two main train stations are a few minutes’ drive. Glasgow Central for trains from London and other southerly destinations. Glasgow Queen Street for local and Scottish destinations.
Our nearest local train station is the SECC mainline station, a 15 minute walk. Trains from Central station call here.
The nearest subway station is Cessnock a 6 minute walk away. The central subway station is Buchanan Street, adjacent to Queen Street station.
Travelling by car and we're just off the M8. Take junction 24 and follow the brown signs for Glasgow Science Centre/IMAX.
The bus stops here too. First Bus No. 89/90 and Arriva No. 23/24
